All signs must be hand-held.

I just got an email indicating all signs must be hand-held. Just passing on the news.

UPDATE: In response to questions, here's an extract from the letter I got, with edits to protect the anonymity of the private citizen involved.

Good afternoon Jane,

Someone sent this to me today and I wanted to make sure that you understand that signs must be hand held. As I had said, we typically mail a letter to confirm and a copy of policies and procedures. Since we didn’t have time for that, I am attaching a copy of the policies – sorry it is so lengthy.

Thank you, Nancy

  1. Please start a thread to brainstorm sign slogans. I like:

    "Should've Voted for the Teleprompter!"

    let's see some other ideas!

  3. Not a slogan so much as a pair of chants:

    TWO-FOUR-SIX-EIGHT
    WHO DO WE EX.COR.I.ATE?
    CONGRESS! CONGRESS! CONGRESS!

    ************

WATCH OUR ECONOMY START TO DIE
    CONGRESS GOT NO ALIBI
THEY UU-GLY, OH YEAH, THEY UU-GLY

  4. Patrick - who did you get that email from? Because, 1 -- I don't think even the police can dictate that, and 2 -- We've already got our signs attached to some skinny pvc pipe.

  5. Here's an edited copy of the note I was sent.
