Let's pick a day!

April 15 is a Wednesday. Do you want to protest on a weekday? Me, I have a day job.

So, let's do it the weekend before. Let's make it the Sunday before, and let's use Protest Warrior for ideas.

What think ye?

God! I wish Gut Rumbles was still alive.

  1. April 15th is a long way away. The media cycle is on an uptick with Santelli's rant yesterday. I would suggest we try and do it sometime in the next two weeks. Preferably next week...

  2. I agree with Michael. 2 weeks tops.

  3. Here's two more that would be in -- the sooner the better.

  4. Next week would be best. Friday is out because you miss the media cycle. Monday is better. Tuesday is best. But that's a little to early to get the word out, allow people to change their schedules, etc. So I'm thinking either this Thursday (2/26) or next Monday (3/2) at the latest.

As far as location, its definitely the capital, its where the media expects you to be and its central to just about everyone. Parking sucks but nothing is perfect.

  5. Let's go for Monday.

Let's get together to organize this weekend, distribute tasks, meet next weekend, and protest on Monday.

  6. Unlike the left - we (the Right) have jobs and can't just take any day off to protest - how about pick a day when there is a get together downtown - like the Oysterfest at Steamhouse this weekend - http://www.steamhouselounge.com/oysterfest.html

  7. Could we have a thread dedicated to planning so we all end up in the same meeting?

  8. I agree, the sooner the better. My spouse and I are ready to drive in from Athens to support this.

  9. Please try and find a place that is easy for older people to attend. My mother and her friends would love to show up but if it's going to involve jumping through hoops, it's tough to get people in their 70's and 80's.

  10. Patrick, I know you're having a planning meeting tomorrow but I'll have to miss it. I'm very excited about attending the protest itself (although not excited for the reason behind it) and I hope that we can get it scheduled soon!
