  1. Best place to hold it is in an outhouse. Perfect size for your tiny slice of fringe; perfect receptacle for the shit you've been sold and are trying to resell.

  2. Thanks so much for that inspiring comment, given from the cover of anonymity.

I am reminded of a couple of lines from Alexander Pope:

"It grieves me much," replied the peer again/
"Who speaks so well should ever speak in vain.

  3. And whatever is this fascination with feces? Is this where the whole "shovel-ready" thing comes from?

  4. We could stock the outhouse with the bill. Maybe then someone will read it before voting on it.

    I'm hoping to make it.

Another idea of location is Willaimson's BBQ on Roswell Road. They've sponsored rallies in their parking lots for the Republicans. What better way to celebrate than to eat pork sandwiches.

  5. Hi Mike,

Thanks for the note. I thought about suggesting a restaurant, but a coffee place seems like a safe, low-cost, low-commitment place for a first-time meeting.

I'd like to try to keep this party-neutral and focus on the "robbing Peter to pay Paul, 'til Peter's had enough" aspect.

For example, in its time, Trent Lott's earmarking was as much a wonder as anything we're seeing today, and the Bush Administration spent like a drunken Kennedy.

  6. I will try to be there. Getting to Windy Hill from church on the way-south-side will be quite a trek. Very interested!

  7. And congrats on the two Instalanches in two days! I've been blogging for almost 4 years now, and have yet to have a glance from Glenn's Big Eye.

  8. Dear Obi's Sister,

Listen: when I saw the Instapundit had posted the contact information at his site, I almost fell out of bed.

You'll be welcome to the meeting. Once you're on I-75 it's a straight shot up to Windy Hill Road.

  9. I am grassroots coordinator for Freedom
works here in Georgia and I was planning on attending this meeting but I am still sick with bronchitis and probably won't make it.

I would like to assist with this.We are coordinating with other groups to have an initial protest Friday, noon at the Capitol. There is a larger one in DC at the Washington Monument on the same day and time. The press would already be there, so we would have good press coverage. We would love for this group to join in. Also, let us now of any that you plan separate from this.

  11. I wouldn't want to leave you with only one hate comment. I too find your attempts at protest sad and misguided. Where was the protest when the last administration bailed out the banks and automakers? Where was the protest when half a million Iraqi civilians were killed with your tax dollars? Where was the protest when you were dragged into a very expensive war in Iraq on false pretenses, while the war in Afghanistan (where a certain OBL is believed to have had friends and a base) was largely ignored?

No, you save your protest for when there's a Democratic administration trying to extend unemployment benefits after the fiasco of the Republicans. Beautiful... just beautiful.

Well, enjoy your protests. I've certainly enjoyed my share of them over the past 8 years, and they can help maintain a sense of hope when everything else feels like despair. Guess it's your turn now to need 'em.

"Where was the protest when the last administration bailed out the banks and automakers?"

Having recently relocated from out-of-state, I only had time to make phone calls, write emails and send letters expressing my contempt for "Round 1".

"Where was the protest when half a million Iraqi civilians were killed with your tax dollars?"

The Lancet finally had to admit that was an utter canard; you really ought to do a better job of keeping up with actual news rather than talking points.

"Where was the protest when you were dragged into a very expensive war in Iraq on false pretenses..."

"Pretenses" with which intelligence agencies from France, Germany, Spain and Britain (among others) were all in agreement.

Aside from the fact that the late Mr. Hussein was just a teensy bit brutal to his own citizens and the UN didn't do squat save send strongly-worded missives for about a decade-and-a-half.

"No, you save your protest for when there's a Democratic administration trying to extend unemployment benefits after the fiasco of the Republicans."

Um, I believe that those most to blame for our current economic situation were fine folks like Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Maxine Waters, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, whom I believe all have a "D" appended to their names.

And yes, many Republicans share some responsibility; as a political independent for more than three decades, I pretty much loathe what both major political parties have become.

I wouldn't want to leave you with only one hate comment.

Since this isn't my blog, perhaps it's not my place to point out that your "hate comment" was tediously prosaic and lackluster pablum which we've all heard before; endless iterations don't make it so.

    Good day to you.

  13. Steady on there, tiger. One issue at a time.

I mean, if you'll read the header on the blog, you'll notice I've just now reached my breaking point and decide to protest. And, BTW, I'm working to make this a non-partisan crusade against bineheadedness.

I have more to say on this, but the wife is telling me to get off the bloody computer.
